Deacon Aureli Ortín is awarded by Pope Francis, attending the request of the Bishops in Catalonia, Spain

Bild vergrößern The Bishops of the Catalan Conference have given, on 10th May 2017, the Medal Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice, awarded by Pope Francis, to Deacon Aureli Ortín, who has been Vice-secretary of the Catalan Bishops Conference during twenty- three years, with a high sense of responsibility and love for the Church.
The Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice medal, also known as the “Decoration of Honour”, is an award that was established by Pope Leo XIII in 1888. It is conferred by the Pope for distinguished service to the Church by clergy and lay people.
