The Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart is getting a new bishop: Prelate Dr Klaus Krämer.
The diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart has a new bishop: Prelate Dr Klaus Krämer. Pope Francis has appointed the 60-year-old as Bishop of Rottenburg-Stuttgart following his election by the Rottenburg Cathedral Chapter. The consecration will take place on 1 December 2024 in Rottenburg.
Klaus Krämer is the 12th bishop of the Rottenburg-Stuttgart diocese, succeeding Bishop Dr Gebhard Fürst, who retired on 2 December 2023 at the age of 75.
We are convinced that Bishop Dr Klaus Krämer, with his many years of experience in the global church, will be a very good successor to Bishop Dr Gebhard Fürst in his role as Protector of the IDC. The Board of the IDC will be present at the consecration and cordially invite him to fulfil this task for the IDC and wish him God’s blessing and the guidance of the Holy Spirit for his episcopal ministry.
