Vicar General invited Montserrat Martinez
Hong Kong/Barcelona November 2014, by Montserrat Martinez
On 15th and 16th November 2015 a meeting of deacons, candidates for the diaconate and wives, was held in Saint Paul’s House of Prayer, in Sheung Shui, Hong Kong. At this meeting participated as speaker Montserrat Martínez, representative of the wives of deacons at the International Center of the Diaconate. Montserrat Martínez was invited by Fr. Dominic Chan, Vicar General of Hong Kong.
In her talks, Montserrat Martínez treated the Relationship between marriage and diaconate, Formation of deacons, candidates and wives, Spirituality of deacons and deacons’ wives, the Diaconate in the world and in the Diocese of Barcelona, and the International Center of the diaconate. The talks raised many questions and comments; especially about the mutual enrichment that occurs between the sacraments of marriage and of order, about the attitude of the wife in the response to the vocation of the husband, and about the consent given so that the husband can be ordained as a deacon.
At the end of the meeting, everybody gave thanks to God for having been able to share prayer, the Eucharist, the reflections and friendship.
