Privacy Policy for Members

For membership of the International Diaconate Centre (IDC), the IDC office collects the following personal data on the basis of a legal authorisation

Title
Surname(s), first name
Address
Ecclesial Role, including year of ordination where applicable
Diocese
Telephone number and/or email address
Bank details, provided a direct debit authorisation has been given

This data is necessary and required for the purposes of administering the membership. It is stored electronically. The data may only be accessed and processed by authorised persons. Any use of personal data beyond this scope and the collection of additional information generally requires the consent of the data subject. Such consent may be given voluntarily here.

Consent to the use of data for further purposes

By submitting the membership application, you consent to the IDC collecting and electronically storing your personal data for statistical purposes. These include: date of birth, year of ordination, marital status, nature and scope of your church ministry, and secular occupation. (If these fields are not completed, this will not affect your membership status.)

By submitting the membership application, you also consent to the IDC collecting and electronically storing your personal data to enable you to access the members’ area of the IDC website. These are: username and password. (If this option is not ticked, you will not be able to access the members’ area of the website.)

Right to access, rectification, erasure and restriction of processing; right to object

In accordance with Article 15 of the GDPR, you are entitled at any time to request comprehensive information from the IDC regarding the personal data held about you. In accordance with Article 17 of the GDPR, you may at any time request that the IDC rectify, erase or restrict the processing of specific personal data.
Furthermore, you may exercise your right to object at any time without giving reasons and may amend or completely withdraw the declaration of consent you have given with effect for the future. You may submit your withdrawal either by post or by email. This will not incur any costs on your part from the IDC.
By submitting the membership application, you confirm that you voluntarily consent to the collection and processing of your data by the IDZ for the purposes stated above and that you have been informed about the data processing and your rights.
