Study conferences
Every four years, the IDC organizes a Study Conference. On the latest such occasion, more than 200 participants from 5 continents and over 30 countries came together in Lourdes. The four-day Conference took pace under the motto Salvation and Healing in a Diaconal Church.

Delegates´ Conferences
Every four years the IDC General Assembly elects eight delegates. The last time around, in Velehrad/Czech Republic, 2013, men and women from eight different countries were elected. The Board named two co-opted delegates as well as an advisor.

Board
Three continents are represented in the IDC Board. In 2013, Klaus Kießling was reconfirmed as president for another four years. Alongside him are Gilbert de Lima, Mumbai and Greg Garnie, Johannesburg. Montserrat Martinez represents the deacons’ wives.

Pro Diaconia Prize
Bishop emeritus Gebhard Fürst, protector of the IDC until 2023, donated a Diaconia Prize for the first time for the 50th anniversary, which is awarded every three years.

DCI Foundation Projects
Ever since 2003, the Diaconia Christi Internationalis Foundation promotes solidarity action for the good of under-privileged persons. It gives financial support to projects from all over the world, in close cooperation with the IDC and with the local deacons.
